Job description

We are looking for a highly experienced Dispatch Manager who has the talent and ability to support our team at the Event & Airline Catering business site in Heathrow, which is currently producing 12,000 sophisticated gourmet meals for premium class passengers on a daily basis.

Job specifications

Job Role

• Planning and coordination of operational work before start of shift
• Liaise with your direct reporting line for additional tasks required to operate the business
• Quality and quantity control and sign-off as per production and menu specifications
• On time delivery and dispatching of food assembly and production lines
• Check and validate H &S, food safety compliance on a daily basis
• Control adequate equipment stock levels, ordering process and inventory control
• Coordinate the timing of the work flow together with Kitchen, Stores, Dishroom and Pastry
• Ensure correct shift handover and reporting procedures
• Take pro active steps to ensure own skills and knowledge continue to improve in all aspects including technical and leadership
• Promote an effective and productive work environment
• To ensure quality is maintained to the highest standards
• To provide professional customer service
• Ability to lead, train and direct staff 

Candidate

Essential

• Basic Health and Safety / food safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous leadership working experience in similar industry
• Basic MS office skills
• Good level of English
• Autonomous and independent
• Interest in team working
• Discreet and work with confidential issues
• Flexibility in attitude to work
• Flexible to work various shifts / day

Desirable

• Previous airline catering working experience
• Telex/ Galileo/ previous flight catering system knowledge
• Personal experience of airline catering.
• Interest in food industry

• Introduction to overall production of assembly and equipment loading procedures
• Review and explanation of cycle times, menu specifications, galleys, AC as per airline
• Assess competence and skills levels as per assigned tasks and duties
• Works under supervision of Assembly or Operations Manager

Weeks 5-10:

• Airside training under supervision of Assembly or Operations Manager
• works independently with team and In charge of designated responsibilities
